Hey Diddle Diddle....

And now, for something completely different...

I've decided to start producing some more kid-friendly illustrations to add to my repertoire of historical mash-ups and politicians. In the spirit of this commitment, I have made this little illustration based on the classic nursery rhyme "Hey Diddle Diddle".
"Hey Diddle Diddle, the cat and the fiddle,
the cow jumped over the moon!
The little dog laughed to see such a sight,
and the dish ran away with the spoon."

I made them all astronauts. For the obvious reasons. I also made the decision to use primary and secondary colors and use bookmark framing dimensions, so children can use it to both learn colors and later on to mark places in their books. Enjoy!

Traveling Around All Over

Hi all,

Just got back to the studio after a ton of holiday traveling. Had an unexpected trip to New York last week that gave me the oppurtunity to visit one of my all time favorite sketch destinations- the Natural History Museum.

I took colored stock and brush pens with me to get a variety of colorful sketches. Sadly, the crowds on hand and my own time restrictions didn't give me more then a half hour or so for each sketch, but I figured they would be a fun addition to the blog to show my "exercise" outside of normal projects.

This middle image is actually from my layover in Baltimore. I'm not sure what the giant crab and elephant were doing there.
